Areas of Expertise
Inner Child and Inner Parts Work
I practice inner child and inner parts work to assist different aspects of ourselves in being heard. This can look like going back through time to meet ourselves at a younger age and listen to the needs we had at that time. This can help to even restructure our past memories into ones that we feel supported with. You may have many different identities and ages of yourself show up, such as student, partner, friend, younger self, and different emotions from these parts, and they may want to be known. Together, in hearing your needs from the time, we work to have your needs be met at a deeper level in the present moment.
Somatic Processing Work
I focus on incorporating somatic techniques to help regulate the nervous system. I practice Transforming Touch®️ somatic therapy, which utilizes touch and the attachment relationship to help with developmental trauma. I also incorporate Hakomi®️ and Somatic Experiencing®️ methods to enter into the "here and now experience" where healing can happen.
Including the body and emotions in treatment allows for support through trauma, anxiety, depression, grief, loss, and more at a deep level. We may use tools such as titration, pendulation, and grounding techniques to calm the body, ease the mind, and soothe the spirit.
Guided Visualizations and Dream Work
I utilize hypnotherapeutic techniques to help clients heal on a subconscious level. Through guided practices, we allow what's latent to become conscious, and to bring our dreams to life. This helps us to cultivate awareness of what may be in the shadow, and integrate it into the light. This can look like tracking dreams and dissecting themes and symbols, as well as traveling through different dimensions of the mind and spirit to further understand the self. As we pay attention to what already is, we move toward self-realization.
Creative Arts Therapy
As a singer, I know that we all have an inner artist that yearns to be expressed. Whether it is through movement, dance, painting, drawing, drama, poetry, or other mediums, there is an art form that speaks to each one of us. We will invite different forms of expressive art into the therapy space, as a way to externally mirror our internal landscape and integrate what is within. I assist in moving through creative blocks with tailored practices to fulfill and support one's own artistic needs.
My Approach
My practice is based on self-discovery and vitality. I find meaning in witnessing my clients’ growth and their newfound understanding of themselves. For me, this looks like creatively utilizing varying approaches to move with and through trauma and pain. In holding a space of presence, I support my clients to come back into their own vibrancy of life with movement, flow, and release. I continue to deepen into my own creative practices and training to have a deeper intuitive guidance. Most meaningful to me is the liminal space where there is shared healing, liberation, growth, and self-realization.
I come from a performing arts background and find meaning in singing, acting, and dance. I believe that the practices of creativity can be powerful forms of processing. The integration of this into therapy can create positive and restructuring experiences. I am especially drawn to work with artists of all kinds, as I am one myself. This means we will invite creative techniques into the therapy space, such as dramatic role-play, movement, music, poetry and more to help to free your inner artist. I specialize in working with young adults as well, supporting individuation and community-building at this transformative time of life.
